I originally created this program as one of many countdown timers that lead to various events like, Christmas, Halloween, or next year.  Unlike all those others, this one is actually important!  Because, make no mistake about it, election day is tremendously important!  The original version of this page got rather long and I decided it was time to clean the slate and start over.  But you can still read it if you'd like, because it's archived here.

So ok, the 2022 midterm elections are over.  Some races went the good way.  Some went about as bad as we expected.  All I can say is, thank the Flying Spaghetti Monster that it wasn't worse.

Here is a short list of what needs to be fixed if we don't want a disaster further down the line:

• The Democrats need to run better candidates.
• The Democrats need better messaging,
• The entire country needs better information and less misinformation.
• The entire country needs better education.

If we don't fix those problems somehow, this sort of thing will continue.  And sometimes it seems to me that the government as it is, is content to not do these things, which is why after every election we say these things and nothing ever changes.

Well, anyway...  As I said in the last version of this page...  Check back here from time to time.  I more or less use this page as a blog of sorts.  So when I have something election related to say, I will say it here.  And I'm sure that as the days go by, final results from the election will come in, and at that point I will surely have more things to say.

Update:  2023-01-25:  The Republicans won the House.  Then they seated a complete moron as Speaker.

In case you weren't paying attention during all of that.  It took many many days of negotiating.  And by "negotiating", what I mean is that the most extreme, far-right members of the House were given everything they asked for.  So his brilliant negotiations gave the most power in the House to a bunch of fascist, science denying, assholes.  People who tried to overthrow the government now sit on the National Security committee.  People who deny that COVID is real, and want to prosecute Fauci, are sitting on the Intelligence Committee.

On one hand, time is precious to me, and I don't want it to just zoom on by.
But on the other hand, I cannot wait until this shitshow in the House is over.  These next 2 years are going to be brutal.

We are going to witness the absolute worst and most moronic people in our government walking around with their chests out, proclaiming that they know SO much and are SO smart, all the while showing that they are the absolute worst and most moronic people in our government.

They will never get the point.  They will never see just how lost and stupid they really are.  And we have no choice but to let them do whatever the fark they want, no matter who it hurts, because they won their elections.

This country sorely needs to set some minimum standards, both for ethics and intelligence, in order to run for office.  The failure to do that has now produced one of the most useless, stupid, fascist, idiotic group of legislators we have ever seen.  We have frauds, racists, idiots, cheaters, criminals, science deniers, pedophiles, insurrectionists, election deniers, etc, IN our government.  And they are the farking leaders of the legislative branch!!

There is NO WAY that should have ever been allowed to happen.  And we squandered every opportunity to prevent it.
